Decorative tiling in the front yard of a Coast Road house, in Redcar. Recently washed down by heavy rain from a thunderstorm. Several other front yards have patterns made from alternating red and yellow small [6ins ?] square quarry tiles.

The zebras stripes make for quite a pattern.

The current [2025] Metro moquette.

Still has the route symbolism, with the M logo.
Quite effective and probably appears "cleaner" with the grey background.

now looking for my pic of the older / original pattern for comparison ! I remember something with quite a lot of orange in it ...

Taking during our safari in 2018.

This male was close, but not really that close. I had the full telephoto lens zoomed in, and the eye completely filled my view. This was one of the young males that was challenging us (in our open sided vehicle...)

I stopped using the big telephoto, and grabbed a point-and-shoot camera to make a video of the confrontation. The males eventually moved off, when they decided we were not a threat.

My wife owns a kaftan which she wears around the house. On the day I took this photo it had been washed and was hanging on the line and the sunlight was shining on the patterns on the back of it. I took a photo of the patterns, cropped out this one (which reminded me of a parasol) and subsequently converted it to black and white.

Funnily enough, when I showed my wife the final image (as you see it) she vaguely remembered the shape, but couldn't quite remember where she's seen it before :-)))
