The neo-Cubist fish is adorable. Plus, it's nice to see the dog lined up next to the kids, since you know they're going to be passing him any number of these "goodies" the second Mom's back is turned.

But I couldn't find a recipe to match the freaky ring-mold thing at the right of the full-color photograph. I feel lucky.

Even some of those "live forever through healthy eating" cookbooks still insist that I peel the potatoes. But I almost never do. Even potato soup is fine with the peels still in. That's what food processors are for. :D

Okay, I admit it. I love the Deco-like stylings of these pages. The bright yellow and blue, the "capsule" shapes. The ham's line and color take it about two steps away from being a still life by Gauguin.

From a "personalized" letter included with this label: "For a perfect vegetable salad, arrange the vegetables on a lettuce leaf and garnish with your favorite salad dressing." And by "garnish," I'm pretty sure they meant "submerge."
