Guynemer (born 1894) was a fighter ace of the First World War. In 1917 he disappeared, the Germans claimed that their pilot Kurt Wissemann shot him. Guynemer has 53 victories.

Pilot house. The tower shows the time and the water level (in decimetres) above or below Seekartennull (known in English as chart-datum) and is since 2005 the Lowest Astronomical Tide. F means Flut (= high tide). It can also show E for Ebbe (= low tide).
The building dates from 1914.

Frans Naerebout (1748-1818) was a pilot who on July 24, 1779 saved the lives of 87 seamen of the Woestduin, which was destroyed in a storm. Later he saved more lives. The first statue was erected in 1919, but it was damaged in the Second World War. This statue dates from 1952.
