one of a group of late mediaeval timber framed jettied houses, this gable carries strapwork carved timber bearing the date 1625, in the centre of the gable can be seen a large trefoil of plaster pargetting.

this pargetting is a relatively recent addition to the display on these houses, dating from 1871. shows the latin motto of the gibson family, coelestes pandite portae - open, heavenly gates.
