In the process, burying their entire heads in the flowers, the bees were pollinating each one they visited. I viewed one particular bumblebee annoyed with the pollinarium attached to its proboscis, rapidly swiping at the pollinarium until it fell to the ground.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

This Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly visited a number of the orchid flowers while I was there, but it was so fast, that I was unable to get very good shots. I had to switch lenses from the macro lens I was using for close-ups to a wider angle lens for the butterfly.&lt;br /&gt;

Note the group yellow pollinia stuck t the butterfly's eyes. An interesting way that the orchid and butterfly have evolved to accomplish pollination.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Having seen the Yellow Fringed orchids coming into bloom the week before, I had to get back up there to catch it in full bloom. Lots of flowers to choose from on this visit to the Forest. Also saw some Carolina lilies in their full glory along the roadside.&lt;br /&gt;
