terracotta of c.1888 on the wide archway on the low extension to the pub that looks over putney bridge approach. possibly doulton, though fulham was full of potteries at the time.

one of a group of ornate pubs in the area, built c.1875, now a famous gay bar . there has been a mother black cap pub here since at least 1751: it is named for a local c17 witch, a mother red cap stood over the road.
