This building was an old Victorian carriage house that had been converted into a home. Relatively modern chimneys were constructed to provide heat and a working fireplace.

"Sverresborg is an open air museum with more than 80 historical buildings, several indoor exhibitions, and two restaurants.

The museum’s old town is comprised of buildings that were originally located in downtown Trondheim, and offers a charming representation of the wooden houses that have dominated the cityscape from the 18th century up until today.

The museum’s rural department is located around the ruins of the castle, and consists of farmsteads and houses surrounded by picturesque nature. The houses are all originally from the Trøndelag region. In the rural department you will also find our Sami collection, the Haltdalen stave church, the Lo church and the old school."

"Santa Maria in Montesanto, erected over a church with the same name that lay at the beginning of Via del Babuino, was occupied by Carmelite monks. The name Montesanto (Holy Mountain) referred to Mount Carmel in Israel. The construction of the present church was begun on July 15, 1662, under the patronage of Cardinal Girolamo Gastaldi, and finished in 1675, with other additions by 1679. Originally designed by Carlo Rainaldi, the plans were revised by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and ultimately completed by Carlo Fontana. A belfry was added in the 18th century. The statues of saints on the exterior have been attributed to Bernini's design. The interior has an elliptical plan, with a dodecagonal cupola. In 1825, the church was made a minor basilica."

This winter, we have had over 8 feet of snow. Ice dams and roof collapses from the snow and cold have occurred so people have been paying roofers $100-$200 per man hour to shovel their roofs. It is very expensive but it is far cheaper that repairing a collapsed roof, and the work on the icy roofs is very dangerous. This man repeatedly slipped and would have fallen off the roof numerous times but for the rope holding him which was tied to a tree on the other side of the house.
