Galeon Andalucia has passed under Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge over the River Avon, on her way into Cumberland Basin & her berth at the far end of the floating harbour.
She's attending Bristol's Harbour Festival and will be open for visiting until the 27th of July.

A drone produced this image of the Galeon Andalucia having windage problems when attempting to leave Whitehaven, at silly o'clock in the morning ie high tide. Between 03:00 and 04:00 16th July 2025.
I believe that no yachts were harmed during this period, although I believe some new words were learnt. I wonder how easily that would have been handled in the good ol' days of warping ships out of the harbour ?

Seen at Beamish - I know this is just an artist's impression, but I don't know which is worse, the whole idea of moving an ocean-going vessel by rail, or the weird locomotives (they look a little like the Double Fairlie type, but there seems to be far too many wheels)

She has her bows and stern directly in line, but I think, from counting the yards, that she is square-rigged on at least two masts, the fore and main, If she has a mizzen, it may have a spanker.

A demonstration of how not to enter the R.Avon from the Cumberland Basin / Floating Harbour. Difficult to tell, but I think there is a steam tug on the far side of the square-rigged vessel. No doubt they are waiting for the incoming tide to bring enough water depth to sort out the situation, as the ship's bows look firmly embedded in the mud, exposed at low tide.
