Tumbledown cottage and wall

HWW - a wall and cottage that have seen better days. This was taken in the Peak District, near Buxton in Derbeyshire.

Living here must have been pretty tough, even when the cottage had a roof.

The view from the carpark, brutalist containers are a fairly recent addition, preventing a view of the nearby rocks. [I think they are storage for the fishing fleet]
The light grey "shed" is actually Seahouses Lifeboat station.

I went out looking for wildlife yesterday but came home mostly disappointed as I didn't see much. I got some shots of what I thought was a rare water vole swimming across the canal, but it was actually a rat :-(

I managed to snatch this shot of a Starling flying off with its insect catch.

An image of a field of rapeseed flowers from a few years ago that I originally took in my "HDR" phase, which now looks a little wrong to my eye. I've reprocessed the middle frame of the the three exposures with modern Lightroom to get a more natural look. Sadly, I can't recreate the hum of the field full of industrious bees!

Taken during our visit to Walvis Bay, Namibia on our 2018 World Cruise.

It was fun to capture images of the people climbing up this massive sand dune. The best part, however, was the flock of birds (pelicans, I think) soaring and turning above our heads.
