Sunday Snail

I found this snail wandering around in my garden and after a high speed chase, I caught it and took it indoors to photograph on a sheet of vinyl.

Afterwards it was returned to the garden given a piece of lettuce leaf as payment for posing :-))

I was moving a pile of old bricks from a corner of my garden and found this little beauty. I put it on a leaf to take a photo and then returned it to the garden.

It was moving very fast, but I managed to grab two more photos, which are in the PiPs if you fancy looking :-)))

Better viewed large I think, as it is well camouflaged.

Held up for inspection and photographing by my granddaughter.

Viewed large, you can see some fascinating patterns in the shell. As usual I didn't have a macro lens with me but the Olympus 12-40mm Pro does a pretty good job close up. Even so this is a large crop.

I named this little snail Maggie because it's been busy eating the flowers on my next door neighbour's Magnolia tree!

Not sure they'd be impressed with me taking photos of it though - I'm pretty sure they have another fate in store for her :-(
