Seen today in the Almenwelt Lofer at the lower terminal of the Schwarzeck 8-seater chairlift: 120 solar modules (240 m2), perfectly aligned for maximum yield in the winter months.

I assume that the economic viability of this pilot system has been well calculated. And I think we'll be seeing more of them soon. After all, ski operations need the most electricity in winter when most guests come: when the sun is shining. And in summer, the solar modules supply electricity for the water pumps in the reservoirs.

Heute gesehen in der Almenwelt Lofer an der Talstation der 8er Sesselbahn Schwarzeck: 120 Solarmodule (240 m2), perfekt ausgerichtet für maximalen Ertrag in den Wintermonaten.

Ich gehe davon aus, dass die Wirtschaftlichkeit dieser Pilotanlage gut durchgerechnet wurde. Und ich denke, wir werden bald mehr davon sehen. Denn der Skibetrieb braucht im Winter dann am meisten Strom, wenn die meisten Gäste kommen: bei Sonnenschein. Und im Sommer liefern die Solarmodule Strom für die Wasserpumpen der Speicherseen.
