reset here is the crowstone, a mid c18 marker from the thames foreshore at chalkwell, marking the jurisdiction of the city of london over the river. on this side, the arms of the city, on the reverse an unreadable inscription

two figures found here, presumably c15 or later, possibly from a roof ? there was no information about these other than the dubious presumption that they were saints from some niche. one seems male, wears a beret like cap and carries a blob (note use of esoteric ecclesiological expression, impressive, eh ?) , the other female with tall headpiece. I couldn't see the backs to check them out, but they are about 3 foot high.
