Huddersfield born Prime Minister Harold Wilson is commemorated by this statue outside the magnificent station frontage in that town. The station is said to be Huddersfield's finest building. The foundation stone was laid by Earl Fitzwilliam on 9 October 1846 and it was completed in 1850 to the design of architect James Pigot Pritchett.

Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust has restored the old station building at Wingfield on the route of the North Midland Railway which opened a line from Derby to Leeds in 1840. The station building was designed in the Grecian style by the architect Francis Edward Thompson and is a remarkable survivor from the very earliest days of the railways. The restoration included renewal of some of the splendid chimneypots which were made from local Ashover gritstone.

Midland Railway Company's station at Leicester was rebuilt to the design of Charles Trubshaw in 1895. This is the departure section of the frontage with terracotta ornamentation and the initials of the company in the wrought iron over the side gates.

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway provided extensive opportunities for eating and drinking at Manchester Victoria Station. The glazed brick and terracotta with mosaic decoration and lettering still invites customers to the restaurant and bar. It dates from 1909 and is listed Grade II.

The clock tower and dome make it easy to spot the railway station at Leicester. This is part of the station rebuilding works to the design of Charles Trubshaw that were completed in 1895. It is sadly suffering due to overzealous cleaning some years ago that has seriously damaged the surface of the terracotta.

South Humber Bank Power Station is a 1,265 MW gas-fired power station at Stallingborough. Phase 1, completed in 1997, consists of three 166 MW gas turbines with three heat recovery steam generators. It was designed and built by a consortium of Cockerill Maintenance & Ingénierie (CMI) and International Combustion, and 255 MW steam turbine. Phase 2 was completed in 1999 and consists of two 169 MW gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and a 171 MW steam turbine. It is similar to two CCGTs next-door to each other.

The station is owned by EP UK Investments Ltd., which is daughter company of EP Power Europe, which is 100% owned by Czech energy group EPH (owned by Daniel Křetínský). EPH bought South Humber Bank power station from Centrica in June 2017.

You can't beat a good public clock. The clock tower outside Altrincham Station dates from 1880 and is listed Grade II. The station was opened on 3 April 1881 as Altrincham & Bowdon by the Manchester, South Junction and Altrincham Railway.

Manoora station is on the now closed line from a junction at Roseworthy to Peterborough, South Australia. This broad standard gauge line reached Manoora on 21 February 1870. Passenger services ended here in January 1984 and grain trains last used this line in 2004. The station remains in increasingly decrepit condition including this water tower constructed of local stone. On the tank can still just be seen the remains of the advertising that was commonly seen on such structures in South Australia.
