On Monday May 09, 2016, at about 1403 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 11900 Block of Palm Drive, regarding a robbery that had just occurred. The victim said two suspects, a male and female, robbed her of her purse and its contents, at gunpoint. The suspects were last seen running north from the location. The victims property along with the weapon were dumped at a nearby trash bin. An area check was conducted but the suspects were not found.

On Tuesday May 10, 2016, at about 1157 hours, the robbery suspects were detained to the front of 7-11, 65971 Pierson Blvd. One of the suspects had the victims stolen property on their possession. The suspects were arrested, booked and transported to RCJ-Banning.

PRESS RELEASE / UPDATE - COMPOSITE ATTACHED

INCIDENT: PC 243. 4(A) / SEXUAL BATTERY

LOCATION: HACIENDA AVENUE / MAUI WAY TO HACIENDA HEIGHTS DRIVE

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male White or Hispanic, 25-35 years of age, 5-05 to 5-10, 150-180 lbs., unshaven. Suspect conceals his face with a hooded sweatshirt, ski mask or bandana.

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
The City of Desert Hot Springs Police Department is seeking assistance in locating a suspect, described above, who has assaulted females walking in or around Hacienda Avenue between Maui Way to Hacienda Heights Drive. The suspect assaults the victim then walks off on foot. These assaults have occurred during the evening hours. The attached sketch was completed from a recent victim. The department would like anyone with information to contact the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime should also contact the Desert Hot Springs Police Department and ask to speak with Detective Henson.

INCIDENT: Robbery/Attempted Murder with Shots Fired — Suspect Identified and Wanted

DATE OF INCIDENT: November 4, 2009/07:30 AM

SUSPECT: William Benjamin Washington, 8-4-90, Male, Black, 5-10, 150 lbs, Black hair, Brown eyes; Tattoos, all on his arms: "Lakresha", "Clay", "Solo the Champ", "12th St. Hustler"; Address: Transient, DHS/Cathedral City/Palm Springs

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT

At approximately 07:30 AM on Wednesday, November 4, a Black male subject, later identified as William Benjamin Washington, was seen "manhandling" a Black female at the bus stop located in the area of Palm and Ironwood. When she refused his request to give him money, he wrestled her purse away from her.

A citizen decided to intervene. Washington pulled out a handgun, aimed at the citizen, and fired several rounds at him. The citizen was not hit. Washington ran from the area and we were unable to locate him. We were, however, able to identify him through our investigation.

Washington is a member of a criminal street gang and is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information regarding Washington or his whereabouts, please contact the DHS Police Department as soon as possible—you can remain anonymous.
