Jon Searles has posted:

Built in 1850, this viaduct spans 1.1 kilometers from Bubny to Masarykovo Nadrazi (southbound), meaning it actually traverses a large part of Prague, at this portion in Karlin (if I understand the boroughs correctly). The street under this arch of the viaduct is Sokolovska, although the viaduct crosses 5-6 streets along the way, depending on what you're counting. One of the most interesting streets, not seen here, is Rohanske nabrezi, which used to be a railway line, meaning that until the 2017-2021 reconstruction, coal soot from steam locomotives was still visible on the arches:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negrelli_Viaduct#/media/File:Northwestern_Railway_Negrelli_Viaduct_eastern_side.jpg

In any case, getting back to my own photo, when facing west through the Sokolovska arch, it is often possible to get good sunset pictures, as the sun aligns quite well with the arch, without any buildings blocking the view. I still haven't been able to get a good camera to get this shot (I've been having technical problems with my cameras for a number of years, with a minimal budget to address the problem), but I have even been able to get the shot with my cameraphones, as you can see here. For this shot, I was using my Nokia 301.

I had neglected to route bash this extension of Linka A when it had opened several months earlier, so this was my first meaningful chance to get some cameraphone shots of it. This extension actually extended Linka A from Dejvicka to Nemocnice Motol, with the Nadrazi Veleslavin and Petriny stations added in between. The original plan was to extend to the airport, but politics prevented this happening for the meantime. The project, as it was, took many years. The official date when the plan was finalized was April 15th, 2010, and the project was completed by the 6th of April, 2015. I seem to have memories of contruction dating back further, but this could be my imagination.

In any case, this is the tram stop for the largest Synagogue in Dresden, seen on the right. It's actually a very well-equipped Synagogue, with sports facilities and so on, as well as this dedicated tram stop. The building isn't what it seems the first few times you look at it, as it has many interesting features hiding in plain view. For example, one portion of it (not visible here) is "twisted," in a not-so-obvious way, and it renaissance-style brickwork that you see here looks different depending on how close you are or what angle you're looking at it from. Needless to say, it doesn't look so Renaissance from every angle, as this is a thoroughly modern building. I didn't take this photo for the Synagogue, though. I just saw a tram coming, and took a couple of shots of the tram.

There is an extensive tram system here, and the trams are varied in age and technological advancement. This tram appears to be a Bombardier Be 5/6 Cobra of the Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VZB), one of three tram operators, and the one that is owned by the city. Cobras were originally built by Schindler, being designed in 1996. There were years of production delays before Schindler was reorganized in 2001 and Cobra production was shifted to Bombardier. The order eventually grew to 88 units, which should all be delivered by now (I don't have a current roster). These are modern low-floor trams designed for easier handicap access, but other than that I've had a bit of trouble tracking down technical specifications.

As I've said already, CSD kept some very old fashioned passenger car technology until comparatively late in their history, with some wooden passenger cars from the 1940's being heated by coal stoves like this one. American and British trains stopped using these with the advent of steam heating in the 1880's and 1890's, as the combination of coal stoves and wooden construction was thought to constitute a fire hazard.
