Rooftop of Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, Bethnal Green. Oxford House was built in 1891-1892 as a "settlement house" in the empoverished community of Bethnal Green, London. Students from Keble College, Oxford University could live at Oxford House while undertaking volunteer work in the area. The students ran youth groups, provided legal assistance, and conducted adult education classes in the building and surrounding area. Oxford House continues to be a community centre though no longer associated with Keble College, Oxford. It is Grade II listed. www.oxfordhouse.org.uk/history

Weavers Fields park was laid out the 1950s after the Tower Hamlets razed the decaying housing, mostly weavers' cottages, located on the streets here. In the summer, when it's been particularly dry and the grass is brown, the outlines of the streets and foundations appear as ghosts of the past.
