Ice waterfall over the weir in the River South Tyne, underneath the Alston Arches.
It looks like there may be a very thin sprinkling of snow over the top, but I don't think I can see any "pancake ice" twirling around.

Ash Gill Force, being quite gentle today, thanks to the lack of recent rainfall.
The arch above and behind carries the B6277, which links Alston & Middleton-in-Teesdale.

One of the lower cascade series, a little way below the main force, on Ashgill Beck [Ash Gill], before it gets to the River South Tyne.
The plant with the white / cream flower spike is meadowsweet.
You cross over using this bridge and climb a little way further up to the main Force, just visible under the road bridge in the distance.

River Dee at Llangollen, I was surprised at the drop in the left hand channel and over to the right by the railway station are some shallows - which had some Mandarin Ducks pottering about [and twitchers watching !]

Greenery in contrast to the rocky parts, this area is so popular with visitors that the ground is damaged by the compression from walkers.

Went up onto the road overbridge to achieve the wider view I needed.

A set of six images of the floodlight waterfall at Cum Rheidol. I have memories of this spot going back several decades, so it was a surprise to visit recently and find the lights still working.
Attempted to take some pictures, but really needed a longer exposure than available with my little "point n shoot" - the best one is 6/6, was taken from the overbridge.
Privileged to see several Bats hunting for insects.

The main frontage of the hardware shop on the corner of Bridge Street and Horse Market in Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Signage says "J.Raine & son" in a very traditional style. [I believe the shop was for sale in 2020, but I don't know if it did change hands]

Bella waiting for me, sitting by the bench outside the "Teapot Cafe" [Middleton-in-Teesdale].
We've just had coffee and cake at the second cafe stop of our day out, after our walk to "Low Force" on the River Tees.

Ordnance Survey Benchmark, in very good condition.

Cast brass [?] set into the wall of a shop in Middleton-in-Teesdale.

This bench mark was used during the Second Geodetic Levelling, England & Wales [1912 - 1921]. It was included on the Wolsingham to Kirkby Stephen line as "Flush Bracket on N.E. corner of house, junction of Bridge Street and Horse Market, Middleton in Teesdale. " at 755.347 feet above Newlyn datum.

New gates and signage, this one asks visitors to remember that although this place is know to be an ANOB [Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty] it and the surrounding farmland still needs looking after - take your rubbish home, watch out you don't disturb wildlife etc. and no fires / BBQs.
