Marathon is a town with a population of around 30,000 and was the site of the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC, in which the outnumbered Athenian army, led by the general Miltiades, defeated the Persians.

The Battle of Marathon is shrouded in the legend of the messenger Pheidippides. He is said to have carried the news of the victory from the battlefield to Athens, some 40 km away, and to have died of exhaustion after delivering the message. As Plutarch, who lived over 500 years after the battle, was the first to recount the story, it must be regarded as Attic propaganda.

The Archeological Museum of Marathon exhibits art and artifacts from various excavation sites in the vicinity.

The area has been continually inhabited since the Stone Age so a plethora of artifacts from that era all the way to the Roman period can be seen in its halls.

Und nun noch ein jahreszeitliches Thema:
Kastanie
"Die Kastanien (Castanea) oder Edelkastanien sind eine Pflanzengattung in der Familie der Buchengewächse (Fagaceae). Die Gattung ist mit etwa zwölf Baum- und Straucharten in der nördlich gemäßigten Zone verbreitet. Jedoch ist nur die Edelkastanie (Castanea sativa) in Europa heimisch.Rosskastanien (Aesculus) sind eine von den Kastanien verschiedene Gattung, die in die Familie der Seifenbaumgewächse (Sapindaceae) gestellt wird. Die teilweise Namensübereinstimmung beruht auf der oberflächlichen Ähnlichkeit der Früchte mit dem Fruchtstand der Kastanien (brauner Kern in stacheliger Hülle) und nicht auf botanischer Verwandtschaft."[wikipedia 23.09.2026]

Zeigt uns also ein Makro zum Thema Kastanie. Ihr findet bestimmt ein interessantes Detail, ob Frucht oder Hülle oder Blatt - ihr seid völlig frei in der Gestaltung.
Lasst eurer Kreativität freien Lauf.
Die Bearbeitung ist euch überlassen, und denkt an die Gruppenregeln und stellt sicher, dass es ein Makro im Sinne der Gruppe ist. Unechte Makros lösche ich nach kurzer Vorankündigung aus der Gruppe.
Und jeder bitte nur ein Bild.
