Three gussied-up guys are standing in a grassy area that looks like it might be someone's yard. In front of them is a perplexing pile of who knows what. Is it a naturally occurring rock formation? Could it be a modernistic sculpture? Or maybe it's the byproduct of some kind of industrial process.
This is an undated photo with "Quality Jensen Print" stamped on the other side.
We went there this afternoon to look for the newly arrived warblers and we weren't disappointed. There were matched M/F pairs of Yellow warblers and Black&white warblers, plus a dozen or so Yellow-rumped warblers. This was one of the Yellow warblers being frisky over our heads.

LIKE A SHIP IN THE VALLEY... This view from the hill opposite beautifully frames St Laurent’s Church. Until the end of the 19th century, the castle chapel served as a place of worship for the Catholic community in Eppstein. It was only as the congregation grew that plans were made to build a new church, the foundation stone for which was laid in 1902. The newly erected building is a neo-Gothic, three-aisled church with a transept and a slender west tower topped with a pointed spire. Both inside and out, plastered wall surfaces alternate with structural elements in sandstone.

The Bonapartes had assisted him during the French invasion but refused to go into exile with him and pledged allegiance to King Louis XV. Paoli saw the Bonapartes as collaborators, and upon regaining power during the French Revolution he tried to prevent Napoleon from returning to his position in the Corsican National Guard. In May 1793, Paolists detained Napoleon on his way to his post (though he was soon released), ransacked his home, and formally outlawed the Bonapartes via the Corsican parliament. These events and others in 1793 accelerated Napoleon's transition from Corsican to French nationalism. Napoleon never fully outgrew his fondness of Paoli, and had mixed feelings about him throughout the rest of his life. Riding motorcycles means freedom, which is what the name Paoli stands for. Waiting for a dealership to open soon.

William Sutherland has posted:

Created April 25, 2026 from settings at Larchmont, NY (l.), New Rochelle, NY (top c.), Larchmont, NY (bottom c.) and Jacksonville, FL (r.)

This vibrant collage – “Culinary Joy” captures the multi-faceted essence of celebration, artistry, and indulgence through the universal language of food and drink. Divided into four distinct moments, it tells a story of culinary craftsmanship that ranges from the deeply traditional to the playfully modern.

The Grand Display: On the left, a majestic roasted turkey serves as the centerpiece of an elaborate feast. The scene is alive with intricate garnishes: an elegant swan meticulously carved from fruit that is among vivid red tomato roses, and segmented citrus carefully arranged amidst fresh greenery and rosemary. It evokes the warmth of a festive holiday gathering where food is transformed into visual theater.

Contemporary Elegance: In the top center, the narrative shifts to a refined, modern plate. A beautifully seared protein rests atop a bed of roasted root vegetables and bright cherry tomatoes, crowned with a single, delicate blue edible flower. This dish represents precision and balance—a moment of quiet, upscale dining where color and texture harmonize on a white canvas.

Whimsical Confections: Below it sits a charming, miniature cake that brings an immediate sense of lighthearted fun. Designed with a smiling with rosy cheeks, and toasted marshmallow-like layers drizzled with chocolate, it embodies pure sweetness and the simple pleasure of dessert. It is a reminder that food should not only taste good but also bring a smile to one’s face.

A Splash of Vibrant Refreshment: Anchoring the right side is a brilliant blue cocktail served in a classic martini glass, perched on a rustic wooden table. Garnished with a crisp orange half-wheel, the striking contrast of azure and gold brings an energetic, tropical flair to the collage – a celebratory toast to cap off a journey of flavors.

Together, these images celebrate the diverse ways culinary creations bring us together, offering a rich sensory experience that honors tradition, artistry, and playful imagination.
