In Deutschland sind Chilenische Araukarien gar nicht so selten, man sieht sie oft in Vorgärten als Zierde - oder hier, als Schauexemplar im Botanischen Garten von Braunschweig.

Aber so gewinnt man nur eine schwache Vorstellung, wie diese Bäume in ihrer Heimat wachsen. Dort werden sie 30 bis 50 Meter hoch und erreichen Stammdurchmesser von bis zu 2 Metern und werden bis zu 2000 Jahre alt. Wenn wir also noch ein wenig warten, kann auch dieses Bäumchen noch beeindrucken ;-)
