On again, off again almost losing our chance,
to see that each is incomplete without the other,
a puzzle of sorts,
I question if we should bother.
My answer comes when I realize my heart's destiny was defined when I met you,

A best friend and a lover intertwined,
I ask myself will we ever have enough time,
an eternity seems too short to share the sublime.
