Der Trierer Dom links und die Liebfrauenkirche rechts. Beide gehören zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.

Um 340 wurde der sogenannte Quadratbau, der Kern des Domes, errichtet. An dieser Stelle standen einmal vier Basiliken als eine der größten Kirchenanlagen Europas.

Der Baubeginn für die Liebfrauenkirche war etwa 1230.

Delphi was an ancient sacred precinct in Greece. It was the seat of Pythia, the major oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The ancient Greeks considered the centre of the world to be in Delphi.

The sacred precinct occupies a region on the slope of Mount Parnassus. It is now an extensive archaeological site, and since 1938, it has been a part of Parnassos National Park.

In the 1880s the site was occupied by the village of Kastri, about 100 houses, 200 people. Kastri had been there since the destruction of the place by Theodosius I in 390. Before a systematic excavation of the site could be undertaken, the village had to be relocated, but the residents resisted. The village got relocated after an earthquake, with villagers offered a completely new village in exchange for the old site.

The "Temple of Apollo" (aka "Apollonion") was a major part of the sanctuary. The temple and sanctuary at large were dedicated to one of the major Greek deities, Apollo. There have been several temples built at Delphi throughout the history of the site, though the visible ruins are those of the temple built in the 4th century B.C. During antiquity, the temple was home to the famous prophetess the Pythia, or the Oracle of Delphi, making the Temple of Apollo and the sanctuary at Delphi a major Panhellenic religious site as early as the 8th century B.C.

Weißer Senf (Sinapis alba) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Gattung Senfe (Sinapis) innerhalb der Familie der Kreuzblütengewächse (Brassicaceae). Sie liefert als Gewürzpflanze einen der Grundstoffe des Senfgewürzes. Die Bezeichnung Weißer Senf bezieht sich auf die weißen Samenkörner. Sie wird auch Gelbsenf genannt, in Bezug auf ihre gelben Blüten.

The Siphnian Treasury was one of many treasuries lining the "Sacred Way", the processional route through the Sanctuary of Apollo, erected to win the favor of the gods and increase the prestige of the donor polis. It was one of the earliest surviving buildings of this type, and its date remains a matter of debate, with the most plausible date around 525 BC.
