Yport est un petit village de pêcheurs situé dans une valleuse et niché entre Fécamp et Etretat. Jusque dans les années 70, beaucoup de familles yportaises vivaient des métiers de la pêche. Fin 19è début 20è, naît le tourisme balnéaire, et la mode des bains de mer devient très en vogue. En 1929, grâce à la voie ferrée la reliant à Paris, Yport est classée station balnéaire.

De nombreux hommes célèbres viennent y séjourner tels que Dieterle, Maupassant, Gide, Laurens ou encore Boudin.Villas du 19è sur les hauteurs, maisons de pêcheurs en brique et silex se côtoient, sans oublier sur la plage les « plates », bateaux de pêche de loisirs bariolés, les cabestans qui servaient autrefois à remonter les caïques mais aussi l’église Saint-Martin achevée en 1876. Resté un charmant village typique Haut-Normand, la commune a beaucoup d’attraits et accueille artistes et touristes.
