On my last evening at Manuela's I went outside for a smoke and heard something crunching past in the snow beside their property. It was a roe deer with short antlers going past. Västerås

Manuela runs the huskies in pairs with the quad bike. They run for a couple of km on paths through the countryside and follow voice commands for direction and stopping. If they have sore paws they wear little booties, like the one of the right. Västerås

I really liked watching ice hockey. It's fast and furious, and the rink is small enough for you to be able to see it all easily (as opposed to footy which is hard to see from the other end). There was a big screen showing it closer up, but I didn't bother. I was expecting more violence, but they don't do that so much in Sweden, neither on the rink nor with the spectators.
