Unica testimonianza artistica della battaglia di Ravenna è la cosidetta 'Colonna dei Francesi', eretta nel 1557 dal cardinale Pier Donato Cesi arcivescovo di Narni. La si può osservare sull'argine destro del fiume Ronco a pochi chilometri da Ravenna, presso la frazione Madonna dell’Albero. Gli alti cipressi che la circondano, la rendono facilmente identificabile per tutte le persone che la cercano e sottolineano il cordoglio di tutte le persone e soldati che morirono durante la battaglia. Il fatto d'arme accadde la mattina dell'11 aprile del 1512, giorno di Pasqua. I due eserciti che si fronteggiarono erano quello francese guidato dal capitano Gaston di Foix, aiutati dall’esercito estense di Ferrara e l'esercito della Lega Santa composto da Spagnoli, Italiani e Greci del regno di Napoli. Alla battaglia parteciparono personaggi leggendari: il Baiardo, il de La Palisse e Ludovico Ariosto; secondo l'iscrizione riportata sulla colonna nella battaglia morirono quasi 20.000 uomini. A questi bisogna poi aggiungere i morti di pestilenza nei giorni successivi. La vittoria arrise ai Francesi che invasero e saccheggiarono la città, facilitati in questo da una breccia nelle mura a sinistra della porta San Mama, aperta due giorni prima (9 apr. 1512) dalle artiglierie del duca di Ferrara. La morte del capitano Gaston di Foix (1489-1512), nipote del re di Francia Luigi XI, e gli attacchi successivi della lega Santa fecero retrocedere l'esercito francese fin nel Milanese.&lt;br /&gt;
Sebbene ora il monumento sia dimenticato da tutti poiché fuori dai comuni itinerari turistici, era considerato un tempo degno di nota; tra gli altri visitatori la colonna annoverò Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) che così la descrive: «solitaria, alta sulla pianura. Segna dove il prode cavaliere di Francia fu ucciso, dove la sua luminosa giovinezza sgorgò sul terreno». It’s possible to see the monument, on the right embankment of the river Ronco, a few miles away from the city and near a village called Madonna dell’Albero. High cypresses surround the column underlining the mourning for all the people and soldiers that died in the battle and successively during a pestilence. The battle was on the morning of the 11th April 1512, Easter day. The two armies in battle were the French and the Holy League composed of Spanish, Italians and South Italian Greeks. Present were many important historical figures, in particular Baiardo, de La Palisse and Ludovico Ariosto (a famous Italian writer). One of the inscriptions of the column reminds us that during that day 20,000 people were killed. The French side won thanks to the presence of a breach near S. Mama, a Ravenna’s door wall. The Italian allies of the French army had made the breach two days before but they had been unable to enter the city. The death of the captain Gaston de Foix (1489-1512), nephew of the French king Louis XI, and the successive attacks of the Holy League were able to drive out the French to Milan.&lt;br /&gt;
The monument is now forgotten by everyone and is away from the common tourist pathways. It was considered to be a very good monument in past centuries and many people came to see it: among them the famous Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) who wrote: «lonely and high in the plane. It signes the place where the valiant knight was killed, where his bright youth was lost in the field». The column is now in a different place from where Wilde saw it. It was moved at the end of the XIX century about fifty metres away from its original place.&lt;br /&gt;

Un luogo anonimo per un appuntamento al calar del sole su una spiaggia ormai deserta, dalle risa e dalla felicità ormai svanite nel vento di un autunno precoce. Un pontile, geometrie, giochi di luce alternate.., tante finestre come occhi spenti. L'estate è finità, gli amici sono andati ogniuno per la sua strada.. Forse siamo rimasti noi due soli.. MI guardo attorno felice, per rendermi mestamente conto che sono solo su un pontile che mi porta ad un ristorante senza piu odori, senza piu clienti... Un ristorante chiuso!&lt;br /&gt;

Un luogo anonimo per un appuntamento al calar del sole su una spiaggia ormai deserta, dalle risa e dalla felicità ormai svanite nel vento di un autunno precoce. Un pontile, geometrie, giochi di luce alternate.., tante finestre come occhi spenti. L'estate è finità, gli amici sono andati ogniuno per la sua strada.. Forse siamo rimasti noi due soli.. MI guardo attorno felice, per rendermi mestamente conto che sono solo su un pontile che mi porta ad un ristorante senza piu odori, senza piu clienti... Un ristorante chiuso!&lt;br /&gt;

 Forse, per molti può non centrare nulla; una canzone è, in fondo, una canzone destinata a terminare come il vecchio disco nel Juke-box. La realtà dei fatti è che UNA VOCE esiste e quella voce è di MINA. Tra mille ombrelloni di una spiaggia deserta, il mito si perpetua nei ricordi di un tempo, ormai, troppo lontanamente andato..  Non giudicate le parole di questa melodia, io allora ero poco piu di un bambino, ma l'allegria che tutt'attorno esisteva e si palpava; a Rimini come a Cattolica, a Viareggio come a Jesolo o a Taormina..  &lt;br /&gt;
A Gabicce Monte (PS), c'è ancora un locale, l'EDEN ROCK  meta paradisiaca di tanti artisti, locale VIP del tempo; io ebbi la fortuna di ascoltare la Mina dal vivo e da pochi passi, 12 anni e ne rimasi estasiato, incantato, innamorato di quella voce unica e rara che il grande Armstrong defini." ..la voce bianca piu nera che abbia mai sentito.." (Italia 1968?). Purtroppo sono stonato e i miei vocalizi imitatori non hanno mai avuto e potuto aver seguito.. Cosi dedico questa atmosfera al periodo , al tempo glorioso degli anni sessanta e a Mina.&lt;br /&gt;
