I stalled out for several weeks, trying to complete several roughs that didn't want to go anywhere. Or they did want to, but they were too similar to things I'd already done.

So I took a break and loaded some new items onto my ephemera page, Then I came back and threw out almost all the half-finished works. Then this one snapped together in only a day. Maybe there's a lesson here?

Whoa. Way too long since I got back to this series. I hope it was worth the wait.

Thanks to all who set up and attended this year's IGA, even though the clock was wrong and of course I was late. D'oh!!

I thought about adding a nice pink blush to her cheeks. The original doll probably had that, even though this was scanned from a black and white photo. However, I then remembered that she's a Portlander, like me. Which means this is the first time sunlight has gotten near her face all year. :D

This one got about half-finished and then sat around for months before I finally got serious about completion. By coincidence, there was a brand new post-mortem about *Titan* on You Tube, just a few days ago.

The phrase is a play on "Lush Life" by the late Billy Strayhorn.

I always forget what a pain text-heavy works are, until it's too late. :D

The afterthought part of the title is due to those floral or sunburst shapes being from a whiskey ad. The same goes for the blue water, which is part of a decanter. It was used once in the far-flung past, but not recently. See here. Meanwhile, that city drawing is from a dairy company. I've heard of Scotch and milk as an old-timey drink, so this would be pretty close. (The great James Baldwin referenced it in "Sonny's Blues," for instance.)

I hope this monologue rambles enough to amuse my million fans. lol
