I'm tagging this as Californian, though I bought it here, at an estate sale. I think most of the fancier labels got grabbed first, but my finds were inexpensive and in very good shape. So I don't mind.

I believe it's Californian and from the 1950s based on info from this collector/seller.

But the owner, Vahlsing, also operated in Maine and I guess landed himself in some very hot water in the 1970s. You never know what you'll learn on a name search!

Shown slightly smaller than the original size.

Gladding, McBean still exists. But their main products now are pipes for architecture. The Franciscan name was still being used as recently as 2013. Thanks, Wikipedia.
