Sonia Roosen has posted:

Many fewer bees have seen this year ⁉️
Nine out of ten plant species depend on pollinators. No bees, no seeds, no next generation of plants.

And with the bad weather we’ve had in May and June, there are far fewer bees. The little patch of lavender in the front garden has attracted bees, bumblebees and butterflies, but unfortunately that’s not enough.

Honeybees are dying of thirst, but they still come here to drink from the barrel of rainwater. It’s set to rain heavily here again on Sunday. The bees are looking forward to it.

Nowadays, there are hardly any sunflowers or sunflower fields left here. On my way to the doctor’s, I managed to take this photo of a sunflower with two bumblebees feeding on its nectar together. Such a lovely gesture, side by side ~ they’d rather be together than alone

Sunflowers have become more beloved because of Vincent van Gogh's beautiful paintings. The sunflower is one of my favourites for a beautiful photo of it surrounded in everyday life.

Helianthus annuus

In any case, I certainly won’t show you a grey world that’s already sad enough ~ I’ll show you my little, colourful world that gives me the strength to get through every day. I look through my photo gallery, which brings back lovely memories.

Enjoy a lovely holiday!

ÉÉN VAN 'DE TERVUURSE HERDERS' BARBARA RECOURT & FONS BROESS 2018

This photo took me back to my school days. I used to cycle past here all the time, crossing the bridge to take in this breathtaking view of the ponds during my school years in Tervuren (In the meantime, nearly half a century has passed). It’s the holidays now, so there are far fewer people than usual. Given my health, I went for a lovely walk here to the centre and back. Enjoying some refreshment amongst the trees and ponds of Tervuren Park. It's a lovely place for me to go, and it's not far away from my door. You never forget the things you’ve enjoyed, and it’s a blessing that those memories come flooding back. I try to combine this with enjoyable activities that are also beneficial to me and sometimes they turn out to be real gems.

Enjoy a lovely holiday!

Out of the blue, there are garden gnomes in the garden! If only it were true... Here in the countryside, it really is a lovely place to stay ~ I was born and raised here. It’s where I find peace. Day by day, I make the most of my day, capturing the moment now and then. I brightened up the patio for my parents with this Hydrangea Pink Ball to make them HAPPY after a difficult time. I prefer to have them here at HOME ☔️Tears rain down from the sky all day long. Is this really summer? To be honest, I don’t find it funny. I can see the blue peacock and the little white chickens... But it’s still not the same
I wish you all a lovely week

He comes and goes whilst keeping watch over my mother’s land like a king in his kingdom. My mother was born and raised here. His call gives away where he is hiding. Early in the morning, he wakes everyone up. His call heralds rain and even storms+thunder+lightning. He seeks out nearby vegetable gardens and greenhouses, as well as tall trees. He is a welcome visitor who creates a lively atmosphere. He is even taller than the water tower ~ quite an impressive sight. Everyone stops to look at how high up in the tree he is

Everyone stops to look at how high up in the tree he is
</media:text>

In the distance, a rooster crows. These are my neighbours’ pets, bringing me peace and tranquillity as I enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace at sunset ~ a lovely way to end the day, every single day.

The tree on my banner is the same tree where the blue peacock sits enjoying the view and the sunset. In this photo, he is sleeping 6 metres up in a tree, keeping an eye on the yard ~ quite impressive, really. His cry heralds rain. It has rained a lot here, and now it’s time for the sun to shine. Tonight he shouts to Janneke Maan to ask if he can come over; he’s on his way anyway...

[The Ice Saints are Catholic saints whose feast days (name days) fall between 11 and 14 May. They are: Saint Mamertus (11 May), Saint Pancratius (12 May), Saint Servatius of Maastricht (13 May) and Saint Boniface of Tarsus (14 May). The Ice Saints mark the point after which most night frosts and the danger to plants have passed]

I wish you all a lovely week

A violent storm had made these two silver birches a hazard. The trunk is still there and serves as a vantage point for this beautiful blue peacock. He sat there quietly looking around, not far from me. He allowed me to take this lovely portrait of him. He’s slowly getting used to me.
