Mein Besuch beim Zirkus Bonaza hat jetzt seinen Weg in die ZDF Mediathek* und in das Online Tagebuch gefunden. Freut mich sehr, dass die Bilder auch dem ZDF gefallen haben, zudem weil mein persönliches Lieblingsbild auch dabei ist...

After some very busy weeks and some vacation without coding anything I finally found the time to fix some problems detected during beta test with a reduced beta test team and to finish the website for the ipxUploader.

Mainly I had some major bugfixing, reducing memory usage and ipernity ticket upload checking, along with completing default settings like permissions for tags & comments (where I am still working on).

Hopy you are all still interested, please keep a little bit patient, so that we can start with the test with a good golden beta...

Version 0.9.3 just finished this weekend. Nearly no technical issues resting now for beta test. I am very busy in other projects at the moment, but hopfully I can provide end of next week the installation .dmg!

Version 0.9.5 had just been delivered to the beta test group. If you want to join, send me an iper Mail, you are invited! Version 0.9.6 in is progress...

ipxUploader: Call for Beta Testers

What I wanted to change is mainly to get control over IPTC Tags alrady inserted in your exported file and get a fast response, when dropped a new file in your uploader. Mainly I was always astonished about the order your files will appear in ipernity, when you drop more then one file: The upload sorting is the reverse order you dropped the files. This fact is annoying, thus you start to upload file by file instead of managing a upload set and the start to upload the whole set.

A year ago I start using the Apple Platform personally, so this was a opportunity to get accustomed with this platform inernally too and change the workflow of uploading pictures to ipernity with my own uploader. And: I do not like the UI of this old Java Uploader. And don't talk about Lion.

So this is the bad news: The new uploader is for Apple only, sorry all Win Folks, if you want your brand new uploader, you have to write your own (Do it, do it, but do not ask me, hm?). Next weeks I think a good beta will be available. Maybe you: Apple user (*Yay*!) are interested to attend to a beta testing phase?

I am very busy with other projects, so please be little patient for the final beta. But I am searching for some Apple ipernians which may want to contribute to a beta test phase of this new ipxUploader. All comments and other ideas (Maybe things you got angry and I don't know obout it) are very welcome.

The ipxUploader will be distributed for free, to have one more good news on top.

Talking so much; I want to share a little movie as a preview of this new uploader:

Sorry, the quality of this video is not sooo ultra, I am photographer, not video maker ;-)

Feel free to contact me on iperMail if you are interested, want to see a first beta and try it. Do not forget to send me your real mail adress, I will send to all beta testers a fine .dmg for installation. Based on the experiences of the beta testers the uploader will be distributed to all interested users via Apple Store and a dedicated website.

What I am working on: Show a list and a icon view, toggle upload sorting direction, edit the IPTC tags already contained in your pics and correct automatically some iper-bugs with IPTC keywords. Gather some information after uploading, especially track the upload ticket to get the information when this pic is really processed by ipernity and is now visible, so that you can spend more time in editing your pictures than constantly reloading the page till you see the upload result...

Any comments? Suggestions?

3. Ipernity adds author information as tag.

Für den Benefiz-Abend für Japan, den modell^tri organisiert hat, habe ich eine Fotografie zur Verfügung gestellt. Geschossen mit einer Nikon und gedruckt auf Fujicolor Crystal Archive, das fand ich passend. Die Besucher konnten sich ein Los kaufen und die gestifteten Kunstwerke wurden dann verlost. Der Spendenerlös geht an das Rote Kreuz.

Die Gewinnerin sieht für mich sichtlich erfreut aus:

Trotz traurigem Anlass ein gelungener Abend für einen guten Zweck.

Mein SB-800 habe ich aus der Bucht und ist ein echtes Buchtschnäppchen gewesen. Dafür, dass das von einem Profi total runtergeritten wurde, hat es am Ende noch einen stolzen Preis gekostet. Die abgegriffenen Kanten und der hakelige Schwenkprojektor wären auch nicht das Problem gewesen, aber seit drei Jahren schlage ich mich damit herum das das Ding, wenn man es mal braucht, innerhalb 30-40 Bildern den Akku leersaugt und zwar gute Eneloops.

Im Studio ist das alles gar kein Thema, da nimmt man sich Zeit und hat kein Problem, das der Akku sich zwischen den Bildern erstmal ausruhen möchte und das Ding für das nächste Bild aufläd, aber auf Partys: NoGo.

Schön: Wieder mal gelernt, das diese Ebaydinge helfen können, aber nicht müssen.

Ich habe ein Nissin für eine Party von einem lieben Freund ausgeliehen bekommen und war begeistert: Der Blitz blitzte solange wie ich Fotos machen wollte, also die ganze Nacht durch: so soll das sein! Der Entschluss stand fest, ist mal Geld übrig, kommt so eins her.

Vor zwei Wochen war es soweit, ich sollte zu einem Zeitungsinterview Fotos machen, auf zum Fotohändler der Stadt, Nissin Di866 holen, kein Bock mich mit Blitzaussetzern zu blamieren.

Alles ging gut bis zu den ersten 10-15 Fotos, nächstes machen - Aussetzer. Verwunderter Blick nach oben auf die Anzeige: "Overheat". Grrrrrrr! Ist in den 15 Min dann noch 3x passiert. Ok, war Vollblitz, indirekt, höhere Decke aber weiss, "Overheat". Den Plan dazu einen externen Akkupack dazuzubesorgen: Gestrichen. Mit Fotohändler telefoniert und angekündigt das nochmal zu Testen, vielleicht ist es ja ein Montagsprodukt, einfach austauschen neuer Versuch...

Im Studio verwende ich gerne den Akkublitz als Spotlight zu den zwei Studiogeräten, Remote. Als Remoteauslöser dient ein Infrarotaufsatz auf dem Blitzschuh. Nicht mit dem Nissin. Das kann Remote nur mit dem eingebauten Kamerablitz ausgelöst werden - wie doof ist das denn? Jetzt noch eine Funkauslöse dazukaufen?

Nix: Hole mir heute das SB-900. Der Preisunterschied ist zwar enorm, mich aber wegen den 140€ mich mit Overheat, labbrigen Knöpfen, umständlicherer Einstellung und Schnulliremotefunktion herumschlagen, ist zuviel verlangt.

Helau! Gerade sind es 77500 geworden.

Also:

Im Juni ein paar Bilder eingestellt: 1385 Visits, laut Bild-Archiv.

Im August ein paar Bilder eingestellt: 781 Visits, laut Archiv.

Aha. Werden nun reine Visits ohne Click auf Übersichtsseiten nicht mehr gezählt, dann eben das nicht mehr, so what. Aber wenn Fotos einzeln aufgemacht werden, wird es auf den Fotos gezählt (soundsoviel Besucher). Schön. 75000 + 3662 = 77500. Ist ja interessant, diese französische Mathematik, manchmal.

Ich würde mal gerne begreifen was der Zähler auf der Startseite zu sagen hat, liebes Ipernity-Team.
