JayOh (John Owles) has posted an article:

After a busy summer season and before a winter of boat repairing, we have took the oportunity to run away for a few days.

Our first destination was to the East Yorkshire coast, UK, between Scarborough and Witby. The weather was atrocious but the local pub was superb. A proper pub with no airs nor graces and very convivial company.

The weather was not much good for photography but I did manage a few decent pictures before we headed off to Hathersage in the Derbyshire Peak District and into the teeth of storm "Amy", and more beer!

I will put up some of my efforts over the next few days.

All the best to you all,

JayOh (John Owles) has posted an article:

Over the few weeks of my return to the Ipernity fold, I realise that a number of my old contacts have disappeared, which is no surprise really. Although I have kept up my subs, I have not been about through the trials and tribulations of the past few years which, from what I have read, could have ended in disaster. I am delighted to discover that Ipernity has battled through and is still continuing to do what Ipernity does best.

Although it is sad to see that some have disappeared, either through age or dissatisfaction, but I am also pleased to see some of the old stalwarts are still here and actively engaging. I look forward to meeting new contacts and trading some shared inspiration and insights.

So, please pop over and have look and make contact, I look forward to meeting you.

All the best to you all,

I should be retired by now but I am still busy boat building but aim to have more me time. Well, that is the plan!

I have started to upload a few images and gently look around some of the groups. Some things seem to have changed, others not so much. That is the way of the world I suppose.

I am looking forward to scanning around Ipernity to see your photos and hopefully meeting new contacts.

JayOh (John Owles) has posted an article:

I must apologise for not returning the comments and viewing enough of other peoples work. I am currently busy setting up a new laser cutting and engraving business, added to which we have had nothing but car trouble lately which has added to logistical strain and, if that wasn't enough, our computers have started acting up. The sum of this being a considerable lack of time.

So, to everyone who has visited, commented or made any of my images a favourite, a very big thank you, your comments and visits are very much appreciated.

I will continue to add images when possible and as soon as we find a little stability, I was going to say normality but I don't know what that is, I will spend some time visiting your photographs.

JayOh (John Owles) has posted an article:

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all well and happy.

We have returned to this so called ‘civilsation’ in the south from our travels around the wilds of Scotland and I am not at all sure that I like it.

While travelling up through West Highlands, we barely saw any rubbish and the people we met, both vistors and locals alike, were polite, friendly and hospitable. No carrier bags were hanging from trees and bushes and no fly tipping. Almost every layby and piece of land that could be parked on had a bin which was emptied regularly, even on ‘out of the way’ tracks. This in an area where distances are greater and more logistically difficult and the cost of services are much higher than in the southern, more densely populated areas. It was particularly noticeable as we journeyed back down the eastern side of Scotland. The further south we progressed, more human detritus became evident and the more uncivilised became the Populus. A sad inditement on this wonderful progressive society we’re all supposed to be so proud of.

OK, over. We have had a wonderful time and I am probably suffering from a ‘hangover’.

It is going to take me a while to go through my photos, while catching up readjusting to everyday life. I have also ordered a laser cutter/photo engraving machine which should be ready for collection sometime this week and will have to be installed and tested so bare with me and I will start feeding some pics in as soon as I can. I am also looking forward to browsing through the photos that you have posted while we have been away.

We returned to find an overgrown garden so to kick things off I have posted a small update of flowers to start things off again.
