Dear members and friends of ipernity,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;1) Our annual general meeting was held 22 March 2026.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A big thank you to all the members who took the time to attend.&lt;u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Summary of important changes voted into place:&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
1) Our Vice President is now Don Sutherland.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
2) Our Treasurer, Corinne Pommerell, is re-elected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
3) Our Cash Auditor, Thomas Reck is re-elected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
4) Membership fees will now be listed only in euros - PayPal and banks used will do any currency adjustments needed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
The text box under 'Tier 2' says, If you can afford to, please select this higher price to help cover transaction fees. Thank you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
5) Membership fees are increased by 5%.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
6) Voyeuristic images (images taken in a non-consensual voyeuristic manner that is degrading - obscuring their identity does not make it allowable) are no longer acceptable.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Our Statutes and Terms of Use have been updated with the changes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

It was felt that the IGA was not the place for a discussion on this matter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
However, since this is a topic that many have opinions about, we think it is important for the full membership to be able to have their say.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Therefore, a new group has been created, &lt;a href="https://www.ipernity.com/group/2835776" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;&lt;u&gt;AI on ipernity - Discussion Group&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
This will allow time for ideas to develop and for steps forward to be agreed upon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Any suggested changes to ipernity resulting from a consensus reached in those discussions might be put to a future vote.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;3) Are you surprised to have been made admin of a group?&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
When you receive notice that you have been automatically promoted to administrator of a group, that is the perfect time to help out the team with group clean-up. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Even if you don't want to continue as administrator, please take a moment to do the following:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
1) View the group and it's current rules.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
2) Check to see if the contributions are set to be moderated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
3) Check to see if contributions are staying on the topic/theme of the group.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
4) See if the group is getting new suggestions/contributions (this can be seen on the group's home page using the [i] below the shown images?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
5) Is the topic concise enough so that the group highlights a particular area of interest and isn't too general?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Once you know these things, you can make an informed decision about if you want to keep the group, have it passed on to someone else, or if you think it should be deleted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
a) If the group is good and you want to keep it, great! Thank you!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
b) If you think it should be kept but passed onto someone else, then ask another group member to take the group on. You can then appoint them as administrator and then leave the group. If you can't find someone, then contact the &lt;a href="https://www.test.ipernity.com/home/ima.moderator" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;&lt;u&gt;ima Moderator&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/a&gt; for help.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
c) If you think the group should be deleted, contact the &lt;a href="https://www.test.ipernity.com/home/ima.moderator" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;&lt;u&gt;ima Moderator&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/a&gt; as they can easily delete the group.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Please do not simply leave the group as the team will have no knowledge of the group and it will remain, making groups less effective.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

As is detailed in our Treasurer's report, due to inflation our income from membership fees no longer matches the costs. As William mentioned, we have managed to avoid fee increases while other sites have not, only needing a realignment in 2021 due to exchange rate changes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
With the uncertainty of membership levels and inflation, we think something in the 5 to 10% range is required. Of course it would be counter productive to propose a higher increase, and risk a decline in renewals offsetting any gains.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Therefore we propose only 5% at this time, to gauge the effect of the single currency amendment reducing the loss due to conversion fees on non-euro transactions. As well as a new feature on the renewal page for people to select a slightly higher fee to cover the bank and PayPal transaction fees, for those that are able to afford it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
We believe this is the route most likely to find broad acceptance, as well as being respectful of the varying ability of our members to afford the increase. We will be able to evaluate the effect of the different elements for the IGA next year.&lt;/div&gt;</description>

This amendment will save ipernity money by avoiding the subtractions for currency conversion, before the amount eventually ends up in our account in euros. This will reduce the required increase of membership fees to balance the books this year. Any currency conversion fees, paid by those non-EU members will be at the exchange rate current at the time, rather than set for a whole year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Shown below are the deletions and updates to the statutes. The first deletion regarding the other currencies is obvious given the above. This then leads to not needing to make updates to the membership fees for exchange fluctuation. The EUR-USD exchange rate is relevant because our association's money is held in EUR but our largest expense is for the AWS servers that are invoiced in USD. The section about pro-rata payments has never been feasible and would have been considered for deletion in any case.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;u&gt;ARTICLE V, Section 4&lt;/u&gt; – &lt;strong&gt;Membership contribution&lt;/strong&gt;: The amount of the membership contribution depends on the desired range of functions and storage space volume. It shall be set annually by the General Assembly of members for all options. The reference currency is the Euro. &lt;s&gt;The membership contribution amount in the other currencies (British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Swiss Franc and US-Dollar) is calculated according to official exchange rates in relation to the Euro.&lt;/s&gt; In the event of large fluctuations in &lt;red&gt;the EUR-USD&lt;/red&gt; exchange rates, the Board of the Association shall be entitled to make adjustments during the year. &lt;s&gt;In the case of future membership contribution adjustments, the new (lower or higher) membership contributions shall apply indiscriminately to all full members from the date of the adjustment for the period thereafter. Any difference from the previous (paid in advance) membership contribution shall be calculated on a pro rata basis for the remaining period until the end of the full membership. These calculated differences shall either be refunded to the member by the Association or paid by the member to the Association in arrears. Alternatively, the association has the right to apply a time equivalent of the calculated difference to the remaining time until the end of the full membership.&lt;/s&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description>

Shown below are the deletions and updates to the statutes. The first deletion regarding the other currencies is obvious given the above. This then leads to not needing to make updates to the membership fees for exchange fluctuation. The EUR-USD exchange rate is relevant because our association's money is held in EUR but our largest expense is for the AWS servers that are invoiced in USD. The section about pro-rata payments has never been feasible and would have been considered for deletion in any case.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;u&gt;ARTICLE V, Section 4&lt;/u&gt; – &lt;strong&gt;Membership contribution&lt;/strong&gt;: The amount of the membership contribution depends on the desired range of functions and storage space volume. It shall be set annually by the General Assembly of members for all options. The reference currency is the Euro. &lt;s&gt;The membership contribution amount in the other currencies (British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Swiss Franc and US-Dollar) is calculated according to official exchange rates in relation to the Euro.&lt;/s&gt; In the event of large fluctuations in &lt;red&gt;the EUR-USD&lt;/red&gt; exchange rates, the Board of the Association shall be entitled to make adjustments during the year. &lt;s&gt;In the case of future membership contribution adjustments, the new (lower or higher) membership contributions shall apply indiscriminately to all full members from the date of the adjustment for the period thereafter. Any difference from the previous (paid in advance) membership contribution shall be calculated on a pro rata basis for the remaining period until the end of the full membership. These calculated differences shall either be refunded to the member by the Association or paid by the member to the Association in arrears. Alternatively, the association has the right to apply a time equivalent of the calculated difference to the remaining time until the end of the full membership.&lt;/s&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</media:text>

For IGA 2026 the mandates for Vice President and for Treasurer are up for election. We have Corinne Pommerell willing to stand for re-election as Treasurer and Don Sutherland as VP.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Important - Executive Assistants needed&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Anyone interested in supporting any of the mandates as an assistant is welcome to let us know. Know that being an extra pair of hands at whatever tasks, would be appreciated by the current four board members.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Our current treasurer is willing to stand for election, but only for one year as she will be moving on to other projects away from ipernity at that time. She would prefer to step down sooner, but is kindly remaining so we can find a replacement.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
This means that at this time, in addition to the mandates, any club member who is an EU citizen who is unsure but might consider standing for treasurer next year should please come forward so they can be considered for an executive assistant position and shadow Corinne for as long is needed.  We could easily use two such executive assistants.  Executive assistants are appointed by the team member they would be supporting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;The Treasurer&lt;/strong&gt; draws up and monitors the annual budget, creates quarterly and annual reports and creates forecasts. They handle the manual membership renewals. Section C.&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The initial reason for adding this was to help a member decide whether to add an image to the suggested group. This is when visiting the group from a 'visit/add' link as a non-member, but having content in it. However, the feature as released is available to any viewer, member or not, with content in the group. A link with a content tally is on the group home page, and the drop-down menu from the 'Contributions' menu item.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;3) New uploads grouped.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Members are permitted to upload more than a handful of images at a time. This can result in the 'Explore-&gt;New uploads' having one or more pages of content all by one person. Depending on the viewer and their interests this may be more or less irritating.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Not wishing to impose a limit on the number of uploads by a member in a session, when it is only an issue for some of those viewing 'New uploads'. Instead, the solution provided is an additional menu option that shows only one image per member, with a count of the new content. As with 'Your contacts: what's new?', a link allows you to choose who's content to visit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

This person coordinates all activities to promote our website in appropriate media, helping to ensure that our community has a sufficient influx of new club  members. &lt;strong&gt;The Treasurer &lt;/strong&gt; draws up and monitors the annual budget, creates quarterly and annual reports and creates forecasts.They handle the manual membership renewals. &lt;b&gt;1) Unwanted phishing emails.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Further to the precaution of putting up a warning in our top banner, the policy on ipermails for new members has been revised. From the previous limit of 10 different recipients allowed per day for the first week, it is now far more restrictive to impact the scammers, while data shows that this should not affect honest new members.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
    &lt;b&gt;2) Upcoming Ipernity General Assembly.&lt;/b&gt; First, a date for your diary, if you are able to plan around it. Sunday 22 March 2026, chosen to avoid the adjustment to clocks in both Europe and America.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Second, &lt;a href="https://www.ipernity.com/home/arlequin_photographie" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;&lt;u&gt;Andreas&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/a&gt; is stepping down from the role as Vice President. We'd like to take this moment to thank him for his support of ipernity including the booth at the in-person photography event.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

We would love to hear from the membership with any thoughts and ideas on the initial roll-out of the following revision.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
With the effort to clean up groups, it has been noted that groups often have images that do not fit the group's theme/topic. This is more prevalent in groups where images are added without being checked by an administrator. It is so easy to click 'add' when your photo is suggested for a group. Without some additional effort you don't even have to understand the title of the group or need to read the description or rules of a group before accepting the suggestion.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
To address this issue, if you do not belong to the group being suggested, an extra step now requires that you view the group before the suggested image can be added.  Such a group will be listed in italics and instead of the ‘add’ option, a ‘visit/add’ option will be shown. Visiting the group will let you see the recent contributions and allow you to read the description. Being on the group home page will of course provide the option to join the group, while it now also provides the option to add the suggested image.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;2) Basic caution around ipermails and sharing private information.&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Sadly (but rarely) a new user of our website will start sending inappropriate messages before we can delete their account. We also tend to err on the side of trust. So sometimes we wait to see if the website use is truely inappropriate or just ill-advised through ignorance. Because of this, please use caution in your communications with new members through ipermail.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
We recommend never sharing private email addresses, especially since you can use ipermail without worry about your personal accounts being compromised. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Following a report by a member of an unexpected deletion of an image, we did not find any bug in the system to explain it. However, the confirmation prompt shown after clicking the [x] for 'Delete this photo' did have 'OK' as the default. Meaning that an accidental second click or hitting [enter] would confirm the deletion. So, the places where this confirmation method was used have been revised to match the version used elsewhere, which requires a positive mouse movement to click on the 'Delete' button.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;2) Dark colour theme.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Only then click 'Install'. The gradient colour can be adjusted later and relates to your personalised colour setting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
On the left, select 'Dark' mode, click 'Install style', and finally 'Manage'.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

It was noticed that the Search feature for groups only looked at the title. This update adds the option of including the group description in the search. This is a benefit both for when looking for ones in your area of interest, or when checking what exists before creating a new group.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
You have been able to search all public groups on title, or within the contributions or discussions of one of the groups you were a member of. Now you can also look across all the groups of which you are a member. Members who have joined many groups may find this of more use than others.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
When looking at the initial overview of say photos or articles there is a search box. This is now also the case for groups which was previously the only area where you had to use the top search box.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Previously only the default search inputs were displayed, but now the additional options are always shown. This simplifies the interface, and makes clear the criteria being used for the search.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;2) Group administration.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
We would like to thank those members who have volunteered to take over groups that they have found, 'lacking attention' shall we say. Such requests are best done via a Help ticket.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
We have started an experiment. From September 5 to 7, 2025, we had a booth at the PHOTON Photography Festival in Illingen / Saar, Germany, where we promoted Ipernity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Thanks to Bernhard (Bergfex), who traveled from Austria especially for this event, we were able to talk to visitors at the festival and raise awareness of Ipernity. We'll have to wait and see if this will be reflected in the membership numbers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
We also learned that this approach is enjoyable because we were able to talk to people about Ipernity in person. And we realized that such an appearance can be improved and expanded. If we get another opportunity like this, we will repeat it.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;2) New access to favorites.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
When you have been viewing the content of another member, have you wondered which, if any you may have given a star to? The new link in the drop-down allows you to do this. If the tally is zero, the link is not active. It does what you would otherwise have had to do from your own page of 'Favorites', finding their name in the list.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

If you recall when the Adobe Flash Player was disbanded, the use of the HTML5 'video' tag was implemented. But the coding provided by 'Share' under the 'Actions' menu was not updated from using the iframe tag. This has been rectified, for audio files too, so that they can be included in comments, image descriptions, and articles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Also, they can now be played within the medium and large size multiple item display pages. As a click on a video will now play it, a button has been added to open the single image page.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;2) Server overload update.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Currently our servers are running as expected for the majority of the time. Overloads due to activity outside of our membership continue to happen randomly. Only some of these overloads are creating slow loading of pages and error messages. As we continue to search for a more permanent way to mitigate the effect, if we find a major overload occurring we may bring the servers down for 30 minutes at a time. We ask for your patience with this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Investigation continues into using Cloudflare services. This is proving more difficult than expected, partly due to lack of efficient customer support from Cloudflare. If anyone has experience with Cloudflare, please reach out to the team.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;3) World Photography Day.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Wow - It's a world record for World Photography Day! (Well, Club record anyway.) We had 81 participants in this year's event, 9 more than last year!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A wonderful wide range of types of photos were contributed. From the inside of a dryer (partical accelerator!) to collections of cameras to the beauty of light across mountains. Lots of interesting conversations have happened, prompted by the photos, the photo descriptions, and the questions from the people who have come and viewed the event.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
