Lets see the wildlife in gardens. Whether we live in towns, cities or the countryside, there is always a chance to see wildlife ...flora or fauna... in their own or adapted environment.. I think next doors/or a garden anywhere will be fine ! You can always say "a local garden" The definition is "garden" rather than "wild outside world" ! Please feel free to post all wildlife ...animals...plants....insects.... birds etc.

Peggy C has started a discussion:

APPOINTMENT With Doctor CHEEMA AND PLAN FOR TREATMENT

Just back - 25 October 2018

Treatment Options:

No Treatment -surgery Not an Option

1) Surgery- Remove the AVM. (the bunch of blood vessels)

Not Recommended because adjacent brain tissue may be damaged.
Also, the nature of the AVM is not a good candidate for surgery, because the arteries are connected to working parts of the brain.

-which he saw this at the time . when he operated to relieve the pressure on my brain at the time of the bleed

2) Blocking the AVM- Fill the AVM with "glue"..

Not recommended because the arteries are connected to working parts of the brain.

3) Radiation- Target the AVM with radiation

Recommended- Requires an MRI in January and treatment in late February.
This is an Outpatient procedure.
May cause swelling, which will require other treatment at the time and would be done on site at OU Medical centre

So now we wait. I like the man and trust him totally.

I now have to work on my left side "cut off sight; and small , moving objects and focus"

This changed my life and I am still in shock and need this time to heal and recover. Small things send me off track right now as you will understand, I am sure.

Hi! Just got this from Jay:

Pam is in the rehab facility, aka skilled nursing facility.

She will most likely be there for the next two weeks. Depending on her progress and what the insurance is willing to do, she may have another stay at an advanced rehab, aka inpatient rehab facility. Skilled nursing is low intensity 2 hours or so of PT per day. Inpatient is more intense with 4 or more hours of PT per day.

The facility is clean and bright with windows that look out on the front lawn. Everyone I met on the staff was friendly and supportive.

The address is:
Pam Johnson
Medical Park West, Room 605
3110 Healthplex Parkway
Norman, OK 73072

Pam is enthusiastic and working with the staff. Her motivation is that she wants to come home.

They are working on bathroom skills, standing, and using a walker.

They had to cut all her hair off because what was left was matted and tangled from the hospital stay.

She is back to talking in paragraphs when 3 or 4 words would answer most questions.

I dropped off her tablet, but she was having some problems. She knows what she wants to do, but she needs to relearn how to drive it. You may or may not get a note from her in the near future.

So thrilled about this .. that red hair will return !

Update as of late 9/23/1018

Pam is in a very foggy world. Some things are clear, others not so much.

She has not passed the swallow test but is improving in many other areas.

Pam was able to stand with assistance and there is a little movement in her left arm. That was very encouraging.

Update 9/22/2018

Pam was speaking today. It is weak but coherent. Most importantly, she is not struggling to make words. She is able to move both legs reasonably well.

She needs to be able to swallow and be fit enough for a rehab routine.

They are working on moving her into rehab sometime next week perhaps, if she is strong enough.

Peggy C has started a discussion:

Here is the latest update from Jay:

"Pam is awake! I went in at 9am and she was awake. I told her everyone missed her and such. I told her I mowed the lawn and she raised her brow.

"Then she wanted to talk and could not because of the tube. That's when she went into a panic attack and they had to sedate her. So, I got 3 minutes with her.

"After the staff reported that she had been awake earlier in the morning, the head doctor decided it was time to remove the tube. That will probably happen today."

So, that was predictable. We all know how Pam feels about tubes. I'm hoping the tube is gone now, and maybe she won't remember what happened today.

Please post this wherever you like, it is the version Jay expects to be published.

Pam J has started a discussion:

I have just received an email from Ipernity informing me that Lisa C has just promoted me to Admin.

She has left the group and didnt know what else to do

I know the totally unacceptable way that that comes about via Ipernity rules.. and it IS unacceptable.

I am blaming no-one...

I do love this group.. and no-one here needs "administering" !!!

So..... if I just sit at the top... can we all be happy with that...?

I really dont want the Admin.. but I dont want to see this group close either. Its alive and I love to see the photos

I would welcome any discussion on this please.

I WILL increase the submissions to 3 a day.. and change the wording slightly.

Any suggestions I am more than happy to incorperate.....

Lets keep this alive.

Please let me know what you think

Many Thanks
